Donna Rosato

Donna Rosato is a senior writer at MONEY magazine where she writes the Money Helps column and covers consumer advocacy issues, workplace topics and travel trends. Prior to joining MONEY, she worked at USA Today covering the airline industry and the stock market. At USA Today, she worked on investigative projects, including an award-winning series with a colleague about the sexual harassment of female air traffic controllers. In 1998, she received a Knight-Bagehot fellowship to study business at Columbia University, where she also earned a Masters in Journalism. After getting her MBA at Columbia Business School in 1999, she worked as a management consultant on aviation and media projects at Booz Allen & Hamilton. She left Booz Allen to return to journalism in December 2001 and wrote for the New York Times, USA Today and SmartMoney before joining MONEY in August 2003.
A native of Connecticut, Rosato graduated cum laude with a B.S. in English and Business from Northeastern University in Boston. She is a member of Columbia University's Knight-Bagehot Alumni Committee and works with Good Shepherd Services organizing volunteer workshops for journalists to teach financial literacy and help disadvantaged high school students write their college application essay and explore careers in journalism. She is an active member of the New York Flyers, the largest running club in New York City. A beginner triathlete and veteran of twelve marathons, she lives in Greenwich, CT. with her husband David, who is USA Today's New York bureau chief and financial markets editor.
