FORTUNE ANNOUNCES 2007 BLUE RIBBON COMPANIES LIST
Procter & Gamble Joins Microsoft as Top Blue-Ribbon Companies

NEW YORK, NY [December 10, 2007] — FORTUNE today announced its 2007 Blue-Ribbon Companies List, with Microsoft (MSFT) and Procter & Gamble (PG) coming out ahead for a share of the top spot. The Blue-Ribbon Companies List was created by compiling data from FORTUNE's 2007 franchise lists. Both Microsoft and Procter & Gamble appeared on seven lists each this year. P&G, which held top honors from 2003-2005, finds itself atop the Blue-Ribbon list after dropping to the second spot last year.

Rounding out the Top 10 Blue-Ribbon Companies are eight companies that appeared on six lists each this year: Apple (AAPL), Cisco Systems (CSCO), Citigroup (C), Eli Lilly (LLY), General Electric (GE), IBM (IBM), Intel (INTC), and Valero Energy (VLO). The complete Blue-Ribbon Companies List is available online at http://www.fortune.com.

To be included on FORTUNE's Blue-Ribbon list, a company must appear on at least four FORTUNE lists in a calendar year. Those lists include: the FORTUNE 1000, Global 500, America's Most Admired Companies, Global Most Admired Companies, 100 Best Companies to Work For, 100 Fastest Growing Companies, Top Companies for Leaders, 100 Most Desirable MBA Employers, and 20 Great Employers for New Grads. For the Most Admired lists, a company must either appear in the Top 20 overall on America's Most Admired Companies, the Top 50 overall on the Global Most Admired Companies, or rank in the top half of its industry to count toward inclusion on the Blue-Ribbon list.
