Eric Gelman is an assistant managing editor at FORTUNE. He oversees investment and Wall Street coverage in addition to editing feature stories.

Gelman began his career at Newsweek, where he was a researcher, reporter, and business writer. He joined The New York Times in 1987, serving as editor of the Sunday and daily business sections. In 1989 he joined Money as a senior editor, working on a number of projects including two Money guides, "Your Best College Buys Now" and "Money for Kids." He was named executive editor in January 2000, taking charge of the magazine's investment coverage.

A native of New York City, Gelman has a B.A. from Columbia University.
