Paul R. La Monica, editor at large with CNNMoney.com, has been with the site since November 2001. He currently writes a daily column called The Buzz that focuses on the big market and macroeconomic news of the day. He also edits several of the site's market and economic features and is a regular contributor to the site's daily video reports. La Monica had previously covered the business of media and entertainment since the summer of 2005 and wrote the Media Biz blog from April 2007 through January 2008. Before taking over the entertainment beat, La Monica covered the technology sector for more than two years and wrote the twice-weekly Tech Biz column.

Prior to joining CNNMoney.com, La Monica was an editor at Red Herring from June 2000 through September 2001 and he was the author of the Fish or Cut Bait investing column for that magazine's Web site. From April 1998 through May 2000, La Monica was a writer at SmartMoney.com and author of the popular Rational Exuberance investing column. La Monica was a writer covering the mortgage banking industry at the daily newspaper American Banker from September 1996 through March 1998. La Monica was a feature writer for Financial World magazine from June 1995 through August 1996.

Throughout his career, La Monica has appeared on television networks such as CNN, CNNfn, CNBC and Fox to discuss his stories and trends in the markets. La Monica has also discussed business stories on various radio stations throughout the country. La Monica is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. La Monica lives with his wife in Brooklyn, New York.
