New York, November 14, 2005—FORTUNE announced today its 2005 listing of Blue-Ribbon companies. To make the listing, a company must appear on at least four of the following FORTUNE lists during the calendar year: FORTUNE 1000; Global 500; 100 Best Companies to Work For; America's Most Admired Companies; Global Most Admired Companies; 100 Fastest-Growing Companies; and 100 Most Desirable MBA Employers. Procter & Gamble is at the top of the listing for the third year in a row appearing on six of the seven FORTUNE lists. This year Procter & Gamble is joined by Cisco Systems, Eli Lilly, Microsoft, and Pfizer — all of which appear on six of the lists.

Five of the Blue-Ribbon companies—ConocoPhillips, Constellation Energy, Valero Energy, Countrywide Financial, and Symantec-met the financial qualifications required to make both the FORTUNE 1000 and the 100 Fastest-Growing Companies lists. The companies had large enough revenues to qualify for the FORTUNE 1000 list and also sustained the 25% revenue growth necessary to make the 100 Fastest-Growing Companies list.
