At this year’s Brainstorm Tech, we will focus on how technology companies, content creators and other institutions can thrive in the recession, and help lead the way to a new era of global prosperity.
The agenda is based on 4 content pillars:
Renewal and Recovery
Technology must strengthen the global economy, renew confidence and speed a recovery that establishes new business traditions. Who will shape, implement and support the solutions required?
Technology and Social Transformation
We believe that the transformational power of software, the Internet and technology is often underplayed in thinking about social issues. Let's collectively think about the opportunities. Governments, non-profits and schools are using technology in surprisingly innovative ways. What role can tech and media play in educating global citizens, governing communities and even repairing frayed relations among nations of the world?
The 21st Century Consumer
It’s a mobile, downloaded, Twitter world, and the way people are using technology in their every day lives has huge implications for the biggest media and technology companies on the planet. Everywhere we look, consumers are bypassing traditional institutions for news, entertainment and communications. How do content creators avoid commoditization? How do infrastructure companies recoup their investments in broadband networks? How do big software companies stay relevant when more everyday people access everything over the ‘Net?
Business Innovation
As Coca Cola’s Muhtar Kent recently advised his fellow chief executives: “Don't waste this crisis.” Great innovations and business practice always have emerged from chaotic times, and the smartest companies are already thinking about what they will look like when order is restored. What concrete things are innovators doing to ready their products and companies to survive the recession and thrive in the post-recession world?
